Haystack FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about compatibility, workflow, licensing, and troubleshooting.
Compatibility
What systems does Haystack support?⌄
Haystack is currently available for macOS on Apple Silicon.
Does Haystack require Pro Tools?⌄
Haystack is built to work alongside Pro Tools so matched results can be spotted directly into your open session.
Workflow
What does Haystack do?⌄
Haystack indexes your source folders, analyzes audio in the background, and helps you relink or spot matched clips directly into Pro Tools.
How do I get started?⌄
Install Haystack, point it at your source folders, wait for indexing to finish, then run matches from the clips or tracks you need to reconnect.
Does Haystack duplicate my media?⌄
Not necessarily. Reference Originals mode lets you import matched clips as references to existing source media instead of creating duplicates.
Licensing
Is there a free trial?⌄
Yes. Haystack includes a 7-day free trial.
How is Haystack licensed?⌄
Haystack is sold as a one-time purchase with a perpetual license and free updates included.
Troubleshooting
What if Haystack is not finding the right files?⌄
Confirm the correct source folders were indexed and let analysis finish before running a new match.
What should I send support if I hit a bug?⌄
Send your Mac model, macOS version, Pro Tools version, and the steps that reproduced the issue to support@wavemaven.dev.
Privacy
Is session content uploaded to the internet?⌄
No session audio or media is uploaded as part of the matching workflow. For policy details, see the privacy page.
